This year, the Big 12 will have the best corps of running backs of any conference in America. But don’t worry, the forward pass is still prevalent in the conference that made the spread offense a revolutionary force in the football game at every level. In fact, the Texas Tech football team had better be prepared to face some of the best wide receivers in the country in 2024.
Tech was only average at stopping the pass last season. The Red Raiser defense, ranked 74th nationally and sixth in the Big 12 Conference, allowed 229.2 yards per game through the air.
But big plays have been an issue: Tech allowed an average of 10.4 yards per pass completion in 2023, last in the Big 12 Conference and 121st nationally.
It will be interesting to see if defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter can improve the pass defense this season, as the Red Raiders will have to replace nearly their entire starting secondary from last season.
With the graduation of Dadrion Taylor Demerson, Tyler Owens, Malik Dunlap and Rayshad Williams, Tech will have to make up for last fall’s 165 combined tackles and seven interceptions, which is pretty productive.

Still, he had 57 catches for 721 yards and five touchdowns last season, his first with Colorado, and that came despite him missing three games.
Hunter had three games with 100 or more yards receiving last fall: 11 catches for 119 yards in the season opener against TCU, 13 catches for 140 yards and two scores against Stanford and eight catches for 107 yards and one score against Utah.
Playing alongside star quarterback Shedul Sanders, he will be a threat to win the Heisman this year, especially if he can dominate on both ends, so he will be a big problem for the Red Raiders when Colorado comes to Lubbock in November.

The City of St. Cloud notified regulators about the recent cybersecurity incident and has introduced a toll-free number and website to provide affected employees and customers with further information and support.
On or about March 25, 2024, the City became aware of suspicious activity occurring on its computer systems. The City promptly took steps to mitigate the incident and initiated an investigation in collaboration with third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The City has also implemented additional safeguards to further protect its computer systems.
The investigation is ongoing, but so far we know that cybercriminals gained access to some of the city’s systems and may have been able to access data between March 17, 2024 and March 25, 2024. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the full extent of what information was accessed.
The types of information affected may vary from person to person, but based on the information currently known, the types of information affected may include name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license, medical information, health insurance information, financial account information, etc. Once the investigation is complete, the City will send letters to those affected.
In the meantime, the City encourages employees and customers to remain vigilant against identity theft by checking account statements, credit reports and benefit statements for anomalies. Report any suspicious activity to your credit card company, bank, healthcare/insurance provider or other appropriate entities. Potentially affected individuals can also visit the City’s website to find additional information on how they can help protect their personal information and how to obtain additional resources.

Hand in Hand’s mission is to provide assistance to amputees through custom prosthetic limbs, lifelong maintenance and even psychological rehabilitation to help them better integrate into society.
Egypt is a developing country with a significant number of amputees, many of which are the result of dangerous regional conflicts, diseases such as osteosarcoma and diabetes, and accidents. Hand in Hand estimates that there are more than one million amputations in Egypt, with 75% of these resulting from accidents caused by negligence of safety procedures. It is estimated that 20% of amputees in the country are children between the ages of 5 and 18, and 50% are workers between the ages of 18 and 40.
However, many of these amputees cannot afford to purchase prosthetic limbs, let alone customized ones, due to their high cost. This obviously does little to improve their quality of life. That’s where Hand-in-Hand comes in. According to their website, the NGO aims to “improve the lives of amputees in Egypt by providing free 3D printed prosthetic limbs.”
Hand-in-Hand offers below-knee, below-elbow and below-wrist (palm) prosthetics, and as of 2024, their newest product is an above-knee prosthetic.
To get one of these 3D-printed prosthetics, amputees must first visit the foundation’s Facebook or Instagram page and submit photos and videos of their amputation to see if a prosthesis can be made. Once Hand-in-Hand confirms, an appointment is set for the patient to visit their headquarters, where paperwork and personal data are collected and a social survey is completed. The foundation also completes a physical and psychological assessment of the patient and takes the measurements needed to make the prosthesis.
The appliances are then made and, if no revisions are needed, the patient comes in a week later to pick up the appliances, after which monthly and yearly follow-up and maintenance appointments are set up.

For Staff Sergeant Aaron Morley, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response victim advocate and intelligence analyst with the 618th Air Operations Center, providing emotional support and empowerment to victims of trauma is no small task.
Morley was inspired by a guest speaker at a previous assignment and was determined to help people who were having their worst days.
“We had a really great guest speaker come in as part of our annual SAPR training and he was really passionate about assault prevention and bystander intervention,” Morely said. “The way he spoke really inspired me to do something.”
Molly stressed the need for empathy, discretion and a willingness to always help those in need.
“We are there whenever they need assistance,” Morely said. “We are there to help victims no matter what situation they’re in.”
Morley’s dedication to his role as a victim advocate was more than just dedication – he spent countless hours providing support to individuals, always available to assist them with whatever support they needed.
Not only does Morley embody the principles of victim advocacy, he is also an inspiring example of the power of compassion and support, which led to him receiving the Victim Advocate of the Year Award in 2023. His willingness to go out of his way to help others highlights the impact one person can have in creating an environment that supports and empowers survivors of trauma.

Good morning. Cybersecurity is a top priority for many C-suite executives and audit committees, but experts say cyber attacks, especially in the healthcare sector, are on the rise.
“In my world, this is almost an act of war,” said Stephen Gillette, chairman and CEO of life sciences company Verily. luck“These are people’s lives, their personal information. The problem we have to solve is not just a technology problem,” he said at the company’s Brainstorm Health conference in Dana Point, Calif., earlier this week.
For example, Change Healthcare, a division of UnitedHealth Group, was hit by a ransomware attack targeting its claims and treatment authorization portal on February 21. The attack caused network outages across the country, with some providers initially suffering losses estimated at $100 million per day. It is estimated that the health information of one-third of Americans was exposed on the dark web.
“Cybersecurity in healthcare truly takes a village,” said Andrea Downing, president and co-founder of The Right Collective. “What happens behind the firewall is no longer enough.” Downing added that many hackers are slipping through existing defenses, and said organizations are starting to see ransomware attackers posing as doctors to infiltrate clinical studies.
“In the field of medical cybersecurity, [Health-ISAC] and [Bio-ISAC]”We need to expand our capacity beyond just one health system, sharing information with each other,” Downing said. “To really be more resilient, we need to strengthen public-private partnerships and invest in infrastructure to really be proactive in detecting and responding to these attacks.”
Financial leaders at hospitals and health systems are focused on increasing patient loyalty and using advanced technology to improve the customer experience. Few things can destroy customer loyalty more quickly than a targeted cyber attack.
